Today we are going to be talking about how to make your own frozen fruit. This probably sounds pretty self-explanatory, you just take some fruit and freeze it and later on use the best blender for frozen fruit to a make your awesome smoothie, but something we have kind of developed a system for over the past few years and we are going to give it to you today.
Below we will talk about some of the fruits and how you can prepare them to freeze.
Strawberries:
When you are planning of freezing strawberries, use just a glass dish instead of any plastic, because plastic is not safe at all for your health so I personally use casserole dishes and I don’t cover it or anything if you feel like you need to you could try to do that but I don’t feel like it’s necessary.
First you can start by washing the strawberry. I do that with the help of a strainer that I just put into the sink and dump in my strawberries I usually kind of do one container.
So here you can use any fruits and veggies wash, I always use my homemade fruit and veggie wash here so I spray that and then I wash it off so that’s pretty much it.
When done you can simply chop off the top of the strawberries. After doing that you probably quite the big casserole dish full of strawberries ready to be frozen so I just take them and put in the freezer.
Pineapple:
Next we are going to chop a pineapple using our method, you can use your preferred method.
What you need to do is to laid down the pineapple on side and cut off the top and bottom. Always use a good quality cutting board while doing your cutting to protect the knife blade.
Now place the pineapple on the cutting board in like a standing position and cut the sides off from it using a good sharp cutting knife.
When you are finished with the sides of the pineapple you will be left with the big eatable chunk but there is one thing that we should avoid and that is the center of the fruit.
We avoid that because of its hardness. You can definitely have it if you like.
Now cut the pineapple into small pieces and store them in the glass casserole dish and put them in the freezer for a few hours.
Bananas:
Bananas are simple to freeze. Its always cheaper to buy fresh organic fruits from your local store and freeze them.
Just peel off the bananas and cut them into small pieces and do the same as strawberries and pineapples.
Same procedure can be implemented with the following fruits:
Blackberries
Raspberries
Blueberries
Cherries
Nectarines,
Peaches &
Plums
